I agree I could try to better define these, but I thought providing examples would get us closer – it seems to have worked for some people, less so for others.

I like the ends/means analogy. As I said in a reply above, “I think you can be coherent without being consistent, but not the inverse”. In any case my gripe is with the over-emphasis on consistency. I find it channels energy away from the really important product questions, and often too early.
